There are two types of Lasting Power of Attorney; the first is Health and Welfare Lasting Power of Attorney. This allows you to choose one or more persons to make decisions about your health and welfare should you become unable to do so yourself. A Health and Welfare Power of Attorney will allow decisions to be made on things like your daily routine, medical care, moving into a care home, refusing life sustaining treatment etc.
The second type is Property and Financial Affairs Lasting Power of Attorney. This allows you to choose one or more persons whom you will appoint to make decisions about your money and your property should you become unable to do this yourself. They will deal with all your financial affairs, for example paying your bills, collecting your benefits, selling your home, or other similar concerns.
Lasting Power of Attorney must be registered with the Office of the Public Guardian. We can help you with the application and registration for either type of Lasting Power of Attorney, ensuring you and your loved ones are well looked after.
